During a meeting held at the President’s Residence, the participants discussed the current state of Haredi employment in Israel, the challenges of integrating Haredi men and women into the labor market, and the steps required to continue advancing high-quality employment pathways amid today’s complex social and political realities.
President Isaac Herzog, who is closely familiar with the Foundation’s work over the years, expressed particular interest in Kemach’s professional training programs, including the physicians program, high-tech integration tracks such as the MeGo program, and additional vocational training initiatives. The President emphasized the importance of preserving the identity of Haredi employees within employment frameworks, noting that “the ability to enable genuine integration without compromising identity is a key to social and economic success.”
Kemach Foundation CEO, Moti Feldstein, presented the President with an overview of the Foundation’s extensive activities over the past year, with an emphasis on quality employment and partnerships with medical, academic, and business institutions.
Feldstein stated during the meeting:
“We work intensively with employers and training bodies to create pathways that allow Haredi employees to grow professionally, maintain a supportive and adapted work environment, and most importantly, preserve the identity and values they bring with them. The support and engagement of the President’s Residence strengthen our commitment to continue moving forward.”
In concluding the meeting, the participants underscored the importance of collaboration between the state, the business sector, and civil society in promoting Haredi employment as a national priority of the highest importance.
