EMPLOYMENT GUIDANCE AND TRAINING

KEMACH set up the Kivun Placement Center in Jerusalem in 2014, in partnership with the Jerusalem Municipality and the Ministry of Labor & Welfare. It is the go-to address for all Haredi men and women seeking gainful employment, helping them to find jobs with real opportunities for advancement and earn respectable salaries.

KIVUN PLACEMENT CENTER PROGRAMS

JOB PLACEMENTS

Kivun’s main goal is to put people in jobs. Since we started out, we have found over 14,000 jobs for our clients in more than 600 companies, organizations and government offices.

KIDUM PROMOTION PROGRAM

An advancement program with up to two years mentoring that helps Haredi men and women who are employed reassess their capabilities and either start a new career or negotiate better pay and conditions.

INTRODUCTION TO THE JOB MARKET

Kivun recognized the need to help Haredim understand the working world in Israel. Our workshops help them figure out what career would suit them best, and give them the skills to get there (job interview coaching, CV writing, etc.)

CAREER & JOB TRAINING FAIRS

Kivun organizes career and job fairs for men and for women, including events for the hi-tech and financial sectors. These events bring employers, schools, and potential employees or students together, to everyone’s benefit.

CAREER APTITUDE TESTING & GUIDANCE

Kivun’s career experts are trained in assessing the employment potential of each client. After a computerized aptitude test and personal interview, each client receives comprehensive support until they secure a job.

EDUCATION COMPLETION PROGRAMS

Kivun runs courses in basic core education subjects (Math, English and Computer Skills) to bring our clients up to par with other job seekers. These courses help people achieve a high school diploma and prepare them for academic or vocational studies.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Designed to increase the number of Haredim in hi-tech (currently 4%) and endorsed by the government, Kivun’s Internship program puts Haredi students on the fast-track to obtaining high-salaried hi-tech jobs by giving them an advantage over other candidates.

In just five years, Kivun has provided career guidance to 22,000 individuals — 12,000 men and 10,000 women.

The success of Kivun has inspired other placement centers around the country to follow our lead in breaking down barriers to employment.

MEET MOISHY DEUTCH

20 years old, single, lives in Jerusalem. Moishy is a Breslov Chassid from Jerusalem whose education did not include secular studies. He came to Kivun in February 2018, took our aptitude tests and had interviews with career guidance professionals. He was extremely motivated, joining our Education Completion Program and taking our preparatory courses in Mathematics, English and Computing Skills. We advised him to consider a career in computer programming and helped him get a 90% scholarship from KEMACH for a 6-month course. During the course he worked as a programmer with Quze, one of our Bizmax start-ups. Shortly after graduating, he was hired by one of Israel’s leading hi-tech companies as a front-end programmer, earning over 10,000 NIS a month. We hope that within 3 years he will be earning twice that amount!.
