Our vision

To chart a path to enable Haredi students to cultivate and maintain a distinct Torah identity, while achieving academic excellence and integrating into the work world.

The Avnei Derech program is a unique, first-of-its-kind program in which students embark on a fascinating journey to maintain a strong and well-developed Haredi identity through a fascinating discourse on the various challenges that lie ahead for them; participate in a shared experience and reveal new and different perspectives; and discover and clarify aspirations while engaging in an honest and courageous look inward with a willingness to make adjustments to the personal story.

I have the privilege of writing to express thanks to the KEMACH Foundation’s Avnei Derech program. Great thought and planning have obviously been invested in the way to provide the best tools, in the most appropriate way, for participants. The program includes various high-quality students and a professional and caring team. The workshops allow for an open, honest, respectful and genuine dialogue among the participants, and are facilitated in a fascinating and professional manner. We also engage in in-depth Torah study (from the Gemara and the Rishonim, to practical Halakha) on halakhic issues concerning daily life. In the end, it's nice to receive a scholarship every month. But the tools, and the weekly experience that the program gives me are much more valuable.

The KEMACH Foundation’s Avnei Derech program gives me a variety of practical tools to strengthen my Torah identity and helps me chart my way in the everyday world. The program sharpens for all of us - students and some of us are also working in various places - the values that are important to us as Torah-observant Jews and helps us deal with different opinions while maintaining our Torah identity and values. We met high-quality people in the program and broadened our horizons and also enjoyed an interesting social experience. I always had the "how" now I also have the "why”!!! The workshops that Rabbi Friedman (an experienced clinical social worker) delivers are simply amazing! They forge significant and valuable content in my Jewish identity. As a result of the special workshops, I understood that I am an important link in the chain of generations and have a significant role to play in the continuity of the Jewish people....
